Nominations are Open for King Coal 2021!

Nominations are now open for King Coal 2021!

King Coal will be announced on Sunday, September 5th (Labor Day Weekend) during the Annual Coal Miner’s Memorial Celebration.

Nominations should include the story or summary of the nominee and why you think they deserve to be named King Coal.

Historic Regional Photos Imprinted on Metal

RRC Heritage Club teams up with the Roslyn Museum for a fundraiser featuring a selection of the Museum’s historic photo collection imprinted on metal.

PRE-HOLIDAY SPECIAL! Reg. $200 each, but just in time to order for holiday gifts, JUST $100 EACH (sale valid through 11/12/21)

As a thank you gift for each $200 $100 donation towards this fund, donors will receive their choice of photos. Proceeds go to the Roslyn Museum. Secure online payments through PayPal or checks by mail accepted.

Copies will be printed on composite Alumi-core as displayed at Basecamp Books & Bites  in Roslyn, WA.

Orders will be taken until November 12th, 2021 then printed and distributed. When ready, arrangements will be made for pickup locally, or, mailing available for a shipping & handling fee.*

Eagles Cemetery Fundraiser

Hosted by the Roslyn Fraternal Order of Eagles

Full breakfast will be served beginning at 10am at the Roslyn Eagles 107 N 2nd St, Roslyn, WA 98941.

Cost is $8.50/person. Proceeds go to the Eagles Cemetery Maintenance Fund.

Guest Speaker Series Launches with March 14, 2020 Meeting – Presentation by Pete Horish

UPDATE: We regret to inform guests planning to attend our Guest Speaker Presentation by Pete Horish, that his appearance at our meeting has been postponed to a future date due to current concern over the Coronavirus. Our March Heritage Club meeting, will however be held as scheduled, and the public is welcome to attend and learn more about our club. We apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause, especially for those making travel plans to enjoy this presentation. We will keep you posted about rescheduling updates. Thank you for your understanding.

Join us March 14, 2020, during the Heritage Club meeting at the Cle Elum Eagles. Public Invited – Free Guest Speaker Presentation, with Pete Horish. “The Day the Still Blew up in Ronald, destroying 32 houses, including Pete Horish’s family’s home.”

Experience Pete Horish Jr.’s impassioned account of the Prohibition Era explosion leaving 136 people homeless, and its impact on local families like his. On Aug. 18, 1928, his father, Peter Sr., was an eyewitness to the devastation when Bertholomes “Bert” Pellegrini accidentally touched off a 250-gallon batch of “White Mule” whiskey in a hidden room underneath the Falcon Pool and Dance Hall.

Presentation is FREE ADMISSION (optional lunch available for purchase at 12 noon)

January and February club meetings cancelled

Due to inclement weather, the first meeting of the year scheduled for Jan. 11, 2020 was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Now our 2nd meeting will also be cancelled. The February meeting, scheduled for tomorrow, Feb. 8, 2020, coincides with the Memorial Service for Linda Lee Hall scheduled at the Cle Elum Eagles club hall, our new designated meeting place, at 1:00 p.m. To learn more about that service, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/605612656943790/ on Facebook.
